All Glock 9mm - All Glocks are Spartan pistols where one model could easily be mistaken for another, but there are subtle and noticeable differences between the generations.
Having covered the basics in Part 1, we can now move on to the specifics: sizes, classes, and what types fit.
All Glock 9mm
Glock pistols are identified by generation and model number, and are divided by size, including how they fit into the following categories: standard, compact, subcompact, slimline, competition, long slide, and crossover.

Standard Glocks are full-size pistols designed for service and home defense. Barrel length is 4.49 inches and 4.61 inches depending on size. Standard-sized Glocks are among the best-selling handguns and strike a balance between size, weight, and control.
Compact is a relative term. These Glocks are still a bit large, with a barrel length of 4.02 inches and grips that fill your hand. The slightly shorter grip and barrel length make them easier to conceal and allow for easier control of the weapon. By the way, this is the most popular group of Glock sizes.
Subcompact Glocks are designed for concealed carry and backup weapons. These guns have very short frames and barrel lengths vary between 3.43 inches and 3.78 inches depending on the design. These weapons are easy to carry and conceal in any way.
These little charms are meant to be hidden. Glock's slimline pistol designs are highly concealable, accurate and comfortable for all shooters, regardless of hand size. Its frame has a beaver tail, which is easy to grip, and the magazine is retractable.
Glock 19 Gen 4 Review
Larger than full size, we're talking about guns designed for competitive shooting. They have standard sized frames but longer slides and barrels. The long slide and barrel allows for a longer sight distance and higher velocity, as well as less slip and muzzle flip.
Crossover Glocks are a combination of a full size grip with an integrated slide. This design was developed for the MHS Army competition, but has become popular in the civilian sector as well. Glock also considers the G43X to be a crossover, but it's also a single stack, so Glock's measurements are always disputed.

Glock has designed its guns, allowing them to change with market trends and consumer attitudes. Although Glock - like most gun companies - is a slow beast, once they've made the changes, it's guaranteed to be impressive and stand the test of time.

In retrospect, it would have been easier if Glock had named their guns after the cartridges they were chambered for: G9 for 9mm, G10 for 10mm, G40 for 40 S&W, etc. .
But Glock named its guns after their patents, not their cartridges. For example, the G17 was Gaston Glock's 17th patent. In addition, Glock offers several different pistols loaded into one cartridge.
It follows that the Austrian gun manufacturer has to offer a variety of weapons chambered for 9mm pistols, the most popular pistol cartridge in the world, for self-defense. Their model numbers tell you nothing about what makes these guns special. Glock 19x [review]: A 9mm To Be Reckoned With
Glock's original pistol, the G17 is used by LEOs, soldiers, and anyone around the world who puts their safety in a handgun. We will spend a lot of time describing the G17 because what we can say about it applies to other 9mm Glock pistols.
Like all Glock pistols (and almost all other manufacturers' 9mm pistols), the G17 is short-action. This means that the barrel and bolt move back together a short distance. At this point the barrel stops, the bolt continues backwards, and the water valve is compressed to start feeding and discharging simultaneously.
Like other Glock pistols, the G17 has a polymer frame with a nylon core. Gaston Glock himself invented this material called "Polymer 2". Light but very durable, the Glock polymer frame is often overlooked because it is not as attractive as a metal frame with a wood handle. Contrary to common misconception, Glock guns are not "x-rays." G17 is 84% metal by weight and Polymer 2 itself can be detected by X-ray.
The Glock pistol barrel is unique because it does not have a traditional pistol grip. Instead of grooves and grooves, its polygonal shots have the shape of two sides of two sides. (Although the 45 ACP and 45 GAP models have an octagonal profile.) Because the polygonal gun does not have sharp corners, it is able to create a high gas seal that promotes more powerful combustion. It is also easy to clean.

All modern Glock pistols have a manufacturer's Safe Action. This system includes a built-in trigger safety (it's basically a fluid that doesn't fire until a finger puts pressure on it), a drop safety, and a firing pin safety. Of course, you should handle every gun as if it were loaded at all times, but Glock's many safety features make it a safe choice for your defense.
The G17 has a two-group magazine, where the cartridges are stored in two groups. This provides greater strength at the expense of making its grip wider. It should be noted that most Glock 9mm magazines are interchangeable as long as they are (A) the same length and (B) the same style (ie, single stack or double stack). For example, the Glock 33 round 9mm magazine works in the G17 and G19. However, the G26's short 10-round magazine won't be enough to hold the G17's long range. (Glock mags are also backwards compatible, meaning a Gen 5 pistol can use a Gen 4 pistol and vice versa.)
Many shooters don't like Glock's factory sights and make replacing them a priority. You may find the G17's plastic sights a bit inadequate for the job, but not everyone likes them. We recommend that you at least give them the old college test before investing in new ones.
The long barrel of the G17L makes it uncontrollable, and therefore generally suitable for recreational and competitive shooting when accuracy is important. A longer barrel benefits accuracy by providing more rotational stability to the projectile, as well as giving the propellant gases more time to transfer their energy to the projectile (which transmits high velocity through the muzzle). The G17 also offers a lighter fluid, making it easier to hold the gun steady while the shooter is cocking the gun.

While still a full-sized pistol in every sense of the word, the G19's smaller size makes it suitable for those who want to carry less weight than the G17, or who want to take their small weapon. Attractive everyday wear for those who do not.
The G19 has a 4.02-inch barrel instead of 4.49 inches and weighs two ounces fully loaded. The overall height of the G19 is also about 0.5 inches shorter, but it achieves its slim profile by holding two fewer rounds in its magazine. As with semi-automatic handguns, you benefit from carrying a smaller gun at the expense of having fewer rounds at your disposal.
Unlike the G17 and G19, the G19X grip has no finger grooves. (Some G17 and G19 pistols are available without finger grooves from the Glock factory.) Many shooters don't like grooves because their fingers don't fit well with them, but grooves they allow machining to improve accuracy.
